Seneca Meadows landfill gas control consists of two landfill gas driven electric plants
(owned by Seneca Energy, Inc.) and two fully enclosed flares.

|
| Landfill gas, a by product of the decomposition of organic materials, is collected with a network of wells and burned in the landfill gas driven electric plants. Burning landfill gas, in the engine generators as well as the enclosed flares, destroys non-methane organic compounds (NMOC’s). |
|
Seneca Meadows Landfill and Seneca Energy work hand in hand to convert landfill gas into a marketable product. With 14 engine-generators pumping out over 11 MW of electricity, this low cost, renewable
energy holds great potential for future industrial development near the Seneca Meadows site.
